The Desert of Forbidden Art will have its debut in Santa Barbara. It’s about art surviving oppression and artists who stay true to their vision are imprisoned or executed.
Their plight inspires Igor Savitsky who daringly rescues 40,000 fellow artists’ works and creates a museum in Uzbekistan’s desert, far from the watchful eyes of the KGB.
This is just a heads up to anyone who happens to be at the fest to be sure not to miss this doc. Info after the cut.
