I want to do the same exact thing and i live in ny i have been trying for years you have to go online and look for auditions in towns near you or you send an audition tape to hollywood and hope the contact youStart searching the internet for acting auditions..
Make sure they arent a scam though!
And I know how you feel, I live in Chicago, and I wanna be a
singer/actress for Disney Channel too.
I found somethin on a radio station saying that I could audition
to be on my favorite Disney shows and whatever, and I went to it
and basically they taped me reading a commercial script.
It turned out to be an acting school where they train you to
be an actress/singer etc. and they’d prepare you for auditons and
stuff but my parents were not willing to pay. But I did get a callback (:
Just keep trying though.
Audition for a lot of things in your area.
Its NEW YORK theres gotta be something (: haha

Basically just get involved (:
