There might be something you keep missing, like a trick or a small door or something further back in the level. I suggest going to a FAQ online and looking up more info on it. If nothing else, just try harder.Hmm. I remember this level. Aren't you on a platform of some sort then there's one opposite you with guards on? And some guards come through the door? Hmm… do you have any explosives, or is there any walls to hide behind. Shit, I don't know. Wish I could remember.Wow, old school. I don't remember if there's mines on the 007 difficulty but I remember I used to mine the perimeter where the guards were coming.
Other than that just use the brown automatic rifle they drop (been too long to remember names) and just keep spinning and looking for guards.
Edit: also just remembered, listen for breaking glass because you know there's an attack coming.The Control level is rock hard and protecting Natalya is pretty much the most difficult thing in the entire game. It's good that you can get to that part with full health, but there's no one clear way of getting through it. It's always a struggle, and luck has a lot to do with it.
This is what I used to do back in the N64 days. First, complete as much of the level as you can before allowing Natalya into the main room. When it's time for her to hack the computer, get everything ready first. Put a mine on each of the mainframes upstairs but don't set them off. Shoot all the tables except for the one Natalya works on, to clear your line of fire. Obviously, don't waste ammo doing this if you don't have much. When you've done this, go get Natayla. After the alarm goes off and the guards start coming, denonate the mines. Hopefully this will take out some guards as they spawn upstairs.
I always used to stand behind Natalya with my back to the glass in the middle of the room. From here, you get about as good a view of the room as you can get. Turn on the spot and watch for guards as they approach the stairs. Try to kill them before they make it to the ground. The guards that smash the glass are a pain, especially if they try to shoot Natalya. Make sure to take out anyone aiming at her before anything else, because if she dies it's game over. From there, it's just a case of trying to survive. It might sound obvious, but killing the guards as quickly as possible is key, because if you let one or two reach the ground floor it's easy for others to turn up while you're trying to deal with the first ones.
It's never easy, and even with plenty of preparation and knowledge going into it you can still fail easily, but keep trying and eventually things will go right. Good luck.
