I see that the Carpetbagger has taken a hit for his funny, off the cuff Joker video – he put a mask on and talked funny for a few minutes and suddenly the earth stops grinding on its axis and the New York Times is put to shame. Yeah, about that. I dare say that, except for a few I know, Ryan included, David Carr is one of the few worth reading around this time of year, probably because he’s an actual journalist. I didn’t think it was embarrassing – it was funny to me. And as I said in the comments of this Deadline Hollywood Daily post (I still love ya, Nikki), whether or not the Dark Knight would be in was probably the biggest story of the year, as far as I see it. And though there are plenty people willing to step up and say they knew for sure beforehand, after ten years of this, I’ve heard it all – nobody knows anything. Not realistically. Hell, we still don’t. The Bagger’s video was a funny way to talk about something that was the story of the moment to anyone paying attention.
I mean, you know, this isn’t brain cancer surgery here, folks, it’s the Oscar race which tends to swerve into the absurd around this time of year. How about we all lighten up? And speaking of which, Glenn Kenny had a few things to say about that.
why so
